I grew up on a family farm outside Goderich, Ontario on the shores of Lake Huron. Growing up as one of six children, my parents taught me to love Jesus, love others and work hard.  I attended Huron Christian School and London District Christian Secondary School.  After high school, I studied at Dordt College in Sioux Center, Iowa.  I decided to major in both elementary education and special education and I discovered that I loved teaching kids.

My husband and I both come from families that value Christian education.  Our grandparents and parents were involved with starting Christian schools. They had a vision for education that would equip future generations academically and spiritually. 

My husband and I have four children, ranging in age from 1 - 10.  We have recently moved to a country home that we are in the process of renovating.  We love traveling, Friday night movies, camping and spending time with our extended families and friends.  Our (school age) children attend St. Thomas Community Christian School.  We are blessed to see them growing in their knowledge and love of the created and Creator. 

This is my fourth year teaching at St. Thomas Community Christian School and I love being a learning support teacher.  I collaborate with classroom teachers to develop individualized programs that meet the specific learning needs of students.  It's vital that struggling students believe that they have been created in God's image with unique gifts and abilities.  I love working alongside students and helping them progress using teaching methods that compliment their individual learning styles.     

This is my first year teaching English as a Second Language.  I enjoy teaching our international students and it's been a privilege to support them as they adjust to learning a new language in a new school. 

I'm blessed to be a staff member at STCCS.  I have the opportunity to see God at work in the hearts of kids (including our kids!) through the everyday activities of student life in a school that seeks to glorify Jesus first in all things.
